Mendota High School

has converted their music library from filing cabinets, to a Music Filing System with Oblique Hanging Compartments.

Before

After

Music Filing pre-prints labels on perforated sheets, according to the music library database info downloaded.

Labels are then inserted into hanging compartments in case number order.

It is now ready for a “Direct File Transfer.”

Many of the file cabinets previously located in the main band room, are wheeled into this room.  A student volunteer removes sheet music from file cabinet, and loads it into corresponding hanging compartment.

University of Wisconsin Milwaukee

has converted their music library from envelopes in various sized shelving units, to open 8 foot high shelving with Music Filing Hanging Compartments.

Two sections of this system (not pictured) were designed with 15 inch deep shelving and taller folders for over sized scores.

Before

Stuffing music into envelopes can sometimes damage the valuable contents.  And it is hard to label and organize the music.

After

The free printed labels have provided greater organization, and easier access to the music.  The system also provides a ‘home’ for the music, to prevent mis-filing in the future.
